Event: Finding Ground, Guided Trance (Virtual)

How are you doing? What are you feeling in your body? What thoughts are preoccupying your heart and mind, these days? And what stories are materializing from these thoughts and feelings?

Me? My head feels like it's spinning, my heart feels like it's splitting and my feet are forgetting the ground beneath me. I'm simultaneously experiencing: compounding grief over the world at large and in my local community; the desire to breathe life into my personal visions and relationships; and the need to pause and reorient myself amidst nervous system dysregulation. Might you be feeling some variation of this?

I’m offering a free, virtual guided hypnosis on IG live this Sunday, 3/6 at 2pm EST as a grounding exercise and ritual of remembrance.

In this meditation, we will:

  • Transmute tension in our mind and bodies

  • Reconnect to the present and to our senses

  • Explore/remember what your personal power feels like

  • Re-ground into the energy of the earth

  • Use self-hypnosis techniques and our natural trance state to tap into the above

This — and my work in general, really — is especially dedicated to the big-hearted artists, healers, cultural workers, earth tenders and poets of their craft. The alchemists who are giving form to a world much more compassionate, loving and generous than our current reality. Those who Grace Lee Boggs says “help us to envision the new cultural images we need to grow our souls.”

It might feel counterintuitive to seek stillness, ease and relief when our bodies and emotions are telling us to *act* *now*. But our anxiety and fear can lead us to *react* in ways that leave us more burned out than anything else. When our nervous systems are on overload, our attention is fragmented, or we’re spinning in our heads and out of our bodies, it can be all too easy to forget ourselves and lose touch with our inherent power to act.

For me, making a ritual of connecting to the present reminds of my inherent connection to a larger whole. I am reminded that I can let this larger whole hold my worries and fears with me. The more regularly I do this — whether through meditation, mindfully walking outdoors, breathing exercises, making music, etc. — the more I can respond rather than react, see where my limitations are, and then choose to show up in a way that is within my capacity.

With gratitude,
Kristen
